Alan is a bricklayer and builder with decades of industry experience. He sees his work in college as providing more than just skills and knowledge about the construction industry.
You need maths in the construction industry: measurements, ordering materials, knowing how to work out your wage slip & tax. It’s these little extra skills that we have to keep building in that go beyond just construction skills. It’s great to see it at the end of the day. If there’s not lecturers in colleges teaching life skills along with the trade area, where can students go for that?
