Curriculum Manager Adults and Work-Based Learning

Over my teaching career, I have seen learners’ lives transformed by teachers, including me and my team. My curriculum area includes ESOL where learners have developed skills and confidence in speaking English as their second language so that they now have better jobs, friends in the community and the workplace and, in some cases, have progressed to Access to HE courses and then to University to pursue their dream careers in nursing, midwifery and teaching.

Without fail, every student has finished their course saying that the teaching staff has been a huge inspiration to them and that they have all felt that every teacher genuinely wanted each of them to achieve the best they possibly could.

Without great teachers, these learners would never have gone on to fulfill their dreams, or even have those goals in the first place. We can make a real difference to people’s lives and we need great teachers to do this!
